Steam Machines was
invited to visit the N.E.D.U.(Navy Experimental Diving Unit) in
November 1999 for a quick-look study.
A quick look study does not include a full test and approval,
only that the Navy has evaluated our unit.

Dear Mr. Readey:
SUBJECT: PRISM TOPAZ UNDERWATER BREATHING
APPARATUS(UBA)
I would like to express my
appreciation and thank you for providing us the opportunity to evaluate
your
PRISM Topaz closed Underwater
Breathing Apparatus(UBA.) Your time and effort has contributed to
our ongoing goal of providing
Navy divers with the best available equipment on the market today.
Enclosed is a copy of our
quick-look evaluation to the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington,
D.C. This letter describes the
form, fit, and function(FFF) evaluation of your PRISM Topaz UBA
conducted at the NAVY
Experimental Diving Unit(NEDU) in November, 1999.
We are continually monitoring
advances in the commercial diving industry for potential Navy
application. Until receipt of
official tasking from the Naval Special Warfare Command, we are in
the
process of developing a UBA
matrix reflecting current commercial technology as a decision of
making
tool for an Integrated Product
Team. We believe the PRISM Topaz may be a potential candidate to
replace the current MK 27 UBA.
Again, I appreciate your time and effort to facilitate this testing and
the
opportunity to dive your PRISM
Topaz UBA.
Sincerely,
E.N. CHRISTENSEN
Commanding Officer
