Pool Session @ American Diving, South Padre Island, TX, 2004
|
| Training is
required prior to delivery. Training is conducted by
factory authorized and trained instructors, who arrange and
schedule their own courses based upon the demand in
their geographic regions.
Typical course
costs in the USA are about $1000-1200 per student depending upon
class size and location; course fees do not include consumables and CCR
rental fees. The rental fees may be waived in the USA if you
have paid a purchase deposit (although shipping may be charged
depending upon class locations). |
|
|
| The first
level of training is 4-5 days and trains the student to
operate the PRISM within recreational limits (140fsw
in the USA).
SMI recommends
that the diver accrue 100 hours of rebreather use before
progressing onto more advanced levels of training; eg. diving
the system deeper than 140fsw, with trimix or heliox as a
diluent. Some time may be credited for prior experience at
the discretion of SMI or the instructor.

instructors
