Training is required prior to delivery. Training is conducted by factory authorized and trained instructors, who arrange and schedule their own courses based upon the demand in their geographic regions.

Typical course costs in the USA are about $1000-1200 per student depending upon class size and location; not including consumables and CCR rental fees. The rental fees are waived in the USA if you have paid a purchase deposit (although shipping may be charged depending upon class locations).

The first level of training is 4-5 days and trains the student to operate the rebreathers within recreational limits (140fsw in the USA).

SMI recommends that the diver accrue 100 hours of rebreather use before progressing onto more advanced levels of training; eg. diving the system deeper than 140fsw, with trimix or heliox as a diluent. Some time may be credited for prior experience at the discretion of SMI or the instructor.

Course Length:	5 Days
Prerequisites:	50 logged dives, Nitrox diver
Purpose:	To prepare certified nitrox divers to dive using the PRISM Topaz closed circuit mixed gas rebreather
Participants Provide:	Standard open water dive gear
Course Overview:	20-24 hours lecture 2-3 confined water dives 4-6 open water dives
Standard Open Water Ratios:	Maximum 4 students:1 instructor (ratios may be adjusted based upon diving conditions, visibility, DM instructor/assistant ratios)
